Sport Hull City sack Mike Phelan as manager after fallout over club's plan

Mike Phelan was sacked as Hull City boss after a row about January spending.
The former Manchester United assistant lasted just 82 days in his first job as manager, having been appointed in October after three months in caretaker charge.
But Phelan had become frustrated over the club's refusal to commit to investment in his playing squad and a statement on Tuesday night confirmed they had parted company.

Hull have now been up for sale for 1,000 days and appear no closer to finding a suitable buyer.
